ACCOMPLISHMENTS - Crosswalk

These images demonstrate another task I encountered during my daily travels around our town.

Before Easter in 2024, I was on the island and reached the intersection of Sunset Blvd and Main St. What caught my attention was that the painted crosswalks were worn out due to traffic driving and turning over them. This is a common occurrence with any crosswalk, and these needed repainting. I took some photos and sent them to the NC Department of Transportation (NCDOT).

I informed NCDOT that we were expecting a busy period on the island with Easter approaching and asked if they could please address the issue. They responded and assured me they would handle it before Easter. NCDOT arrived a week before Easter and repainted all the crosswalks at the intersection of Sunset Blvd and Main St.

The tasks I've shared with you reflect my commitment and care for our community. Running for office isn't about fame or prestige, and certainly not about fortune.

Ultimately, it's about prioritizing the safety of our citizens.
